About the site's history

When the site was created in May 2006 it had a few goals behind it. The main goal, and also the only expressed goal, was to try to defend both Furries and Christians by rebuking those that gave Christians or Furries a bad name. Simply put, many feel that by not commenting on these lunatics or taking them to task we both accept and approve of their antics. This is similar to the way Muslims are held in contempt because they will not speak out against the radicals calling for jihad. This site is only one grain of sand on the world's beach, but it was better than nothing.

Another goal of the site was simply education. That is, it was to educate both those that read the weekly posts and myself as I researched information while compiling the aforementioned posts. Some of the posts contained references to little known events in the scripture for example. Everyone has a lot to learn, so this seemed like a good idea.

The third major goal of the site was much more direct than any of the two goals mentioned above. This last goal was self-improvement. I figured that the weekly posts would not just encourage me to think about God and His commandments, but actually force me to meditate on Him. As I've learned and studied over the past year I've managed to turn away from some of my vices. For example I've stopped swearing like a drunken Howard Stern.

Shortly before the site's first anniversary I decided to change the focus and goals of the site. Previously Fur and Faith combated corrupt views and messages by condemning them -- a negative way of going about it. Now it will still combat such views, but in a more positive manner: by providing learning materials, challenging ideas and an example of proper Furry and proper Christian behavior.

Now instead of telling you what to believe the site simply presents the material and lets you form your own opinion.
